Venezia

Being in Venice is a completely surreal experience.... The crumbling architecture sinking into the lagoon is haunting and overwhelmingly enchanting. Step away from the tourist areas, and the narrow alleys echo with the sound of your footsteps upon 12th century stones, the occasional flap of a seagulls wings, the violin from a distant window. The salty smell of the Adriatic fills the air along with children's laughter and the clinking of wine glasses amongst friends. After a shot of grappa, you start to remember that life is and should be this simple and beautiful... And there you stand... Your head filled with dreams of ancient civilizations and fallen empires... as small as the blink of an eye in time... and there you stand.
